Research Abstract |
Synthetic study of yonarolide was examined. Yonarolide, a norditerpenoid having tetracyclic skeleton, was isolated from Okinawan soft coral. Development of an efficient and stereoselective construction of the left tricyclic skeleton was achieved through Diels-Alder reaction and following stereoselective intramolecular aldol condensation via an epimerization by reversible Michael reaction.
