| Research Abstract |
We have been conducting a randomized controlled trial to examine the ameliorating effect of exercise class on mild depression. Among 3404 older persons who were screened with depression scales in three municipalities in Tokyo, 1489 participated in second-screening surveys, 494 were interviewed by psychiatrists, 99 were eligible, and 61 persons participated into the trial. They were allocated into an exercise group and two controlled groups in each study field.
