Research Abstract |
Among heart failure-related factors, metabolic inhibition and angiotensin II induce mitophagy via mitochondrial superoxide production, and imatinib, a therapeutic agent for chronic mylogenous leukemia, also induce mitophagy. The inhibition of mitophagy/autophagy exacervates myocardial injury and cardiac dysfunction.
