Research Abstract |
We demonstrate that Wnt signaling and its downstream factor, Snail, induce cancer invasion and metastasis in vivo via a matrix metalloproteinase-dependent process, using a chick chorioallantoic membrane invasion assay(CAM invasion assay). Furthermore, siRNA-specific silencing of Snail ablates the ability of cancer invasion and metastasis. Taken together, these data suggest that Snail1-targeted therapy could be effective to cancer invasion and metastasis.
