Research Abstract |
Synthetic small interfering RNA targeting oncogene Akt1(siAkt1) was specifically delivered human oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC) xenografted tumors by atelocollagen-mediated systemic administration. Furthermore, we showed the usefulness of serum osteopontin and in vitro sensitivity test to predict the clinical effect of siAkt1. These results suggest that Akt1 functions as a critical oncogene in human OSCC cells and targeting Akt1 appears a novel approach for treatment with oral cancer.
