Research Abstract

分子自己組織化構造体に関して、精密にその分子間相互作用をプログラムされた系においては、組織化条件(溶媒、温度)により、同一分子群から様々な次元性、形状、モルフォロジーの構造体を得ることが可能である。本研究者は、π-π相互作用性の分子として、その球状幾何学的および物性的興味より、フラーレンC_<60>を基本ユニットとした分子組織化とその構造機能材料の創製を行って来た。また、ここでは得られる種々構造を、鋳型とすることで、同様の表面形態・構造となるナノ金属組織構造材料の創製へと展開している。また、ナノ組織金属の特徴の一つであるプラズモン効果を利用することで、表面増強ラマン散乱用の基板応用に成功した。その他、三次元フラクタル様(フラワー状)、かつ微粒子構造の単分散性(分析基板とするには、均一性、再現性が重要となるため)を持つ鋳型組織構造の創製を精査した。その結果、三次元性でかつ超撥水性(水溶性不純物の吸着を防ぐ)の分子組織構造体を得るための分子設計に有益な知見を得るに至った。さらには、約2.0nmのステップ高さを持つ、平面性二次元フラーレン結晶の創製に成功し、そのステップを利用した金属ナノ粒子の一次元配列に成功した。以上、本挑戦的萌芽研究の研究成果として、最終的なナノ金属組織構造が一次元性ナノワイヤ、三次元ナノフレーク構造の特異金属ナノ組織構造を創製した。また、分子の自己組織化を出発技術とするナノ金属モルフォロジー制御といった戦略を明確に打ち出した。さらには、SERSなど分析基板への応用など、材料の出口性能にまで踏み込む研究に積極的に取り組んだ。
