Research Abstract

固液界面は,様々な化学反応の場であり,分子レベルでその構造を解明することは極めて重要である.そこで,本研究では,固液界面にSFG分光法を適用させるために,表面電場強度の増強の可能性から検討し,内部全反射表面増強SFG計測の試みと金属ナノ粒子構造の影響について理論と実験の両面から調べ,高感度で電極溶液界面における分子構造のその場計測の実現を目指した.まず,金属ナノ構造を基板表面に載せる際に,薄膜の膜厚が波長程度になると,光の干渉効果によりSFG測定結果に影響を及ぼす可能性がある.その影響を定量的に取り扱うために,SFG計測の増強効果の判断が困難である.そこで,薄膜系の界面から発生するSFG信号を定量的に解析するために,界面電場を取り扱う多層界面モデルを構築し,それぞれのSFGスペクトルを定量的にシミュレーションした.これらのモデル計算結果によると,同じ単分子膜からのSFGの信号強度とスペクトル形状は,基板と単分子膜の間にある誘電膜(酸化物,金属ナノ粒子または高分子材料等)の膜厚及び屈折率によりについて著しく影響されたことが解明された.このモデル計算を定式化させ,二報の学術論文としてJ.Chem.Phys.に掲載された.これらの結果に基づき,金基板表面における有機薄膜の定量処理が初めてできるようになった.様々な有機薄膜や金属酸化物薄膜を用い,種々の実測を行った.金属ナノ粒子の使用を試みたが,一部の信号増強が観測されたものの,基板表面に凝集されやすく,レーザー光により徐々に破壊される傾向も見られた問題点がある.これらの問題点を克服しながら,高感度で固液界面でのSFG計測の実現を目指している.
