| Research Abstract |
We confirmed that plasma cortisol, CK, and LDH are appropriate physical stress markers for welfare assessment of sika deer. Analysis of these markers for culled or captured wild sika deer indicated that sharpshooting was less stressful than live capture by using regal foot snare traps and physical/chemical immobilization.
