| Research Abstract |
By a fully bottom-up approach based on organic synthesis as well as a top-down approach making use of biological molecules, we have succeeded to develop molecular tools which would be applicable to control the chemical functions of the target molecules in response to external stimuli. In addition, a basic concept for designing a two-dimensional molecular framework, which generates efficient distortions of the target molecule, could be established.
