Research Abstract

本年度はまず、従来用いてきたアレイ導波路回折格子の代わりに、周波数分解能が1GHzの液晶型波長選択光スイッチを波形整形回路として新たに用いることにより、簡便で且つ高精度なパラボラ光パルスの発生に初めて成功した。従来の手法では光スペクトルの縦モードを1本ずつ分波し各々の強度と位相を制御していたのに対し、本回路は光スペクトルを液晶型の変調器で制御しており、液晶をシリコン基板上に形成することにより高い分解能を実現している。その結果、縦モードを分波することなくスペクトルを制御できるため、波形整形の自由度が飛躍的に向上している。さらに、強度変調の消光比も15 dB以上向上しており、波形の高精度化だけでなくS/Nも大幅に改善することに成功した。
また、パラボラ光パルスの新たな応用として、時間領域光フーリエ変換(OFT)を位相比較器として用いた超高速光信号のクロック抽出回路を提案した。この手法は、OFTを用いて高速の光パルス列を周波数軸上のスペクトル列に変換し、OFT回路中の位相変調ピークからのずれ量を狭帯域光フィルタを用いて検出している。これを誤差信号としてPLL制御を行なうことによりクロック信号を抽出している。実際に本手法を用いて、640 Gbit/s OTDM信号から40 GHzのクロック抽出を実証した。
