We successfully manipulated the quantum superposition states of excitons (i.e., manipulated Rabi oscillations) in semiconductor quantum dots fabricated using strain compensation at the telecommunication wavelengths. We investigated the effects of inhomogeneities inherent to quantum dots on the dynamics of Rabi oscillations. These results lead to understanding coherent interactions between light and solid-state two-level system.
