Research Abstract |
We found a novel type of termite ball in the subtropicaltermite, Nasutitermes takasagoensis. Phylogenetic analysis indicated that Z-type isan undescribed Trechispoloid fungus, Trechispora sp., indicating two independentorigins of termite-egg mimicry in sclerotium-forming fungi.
