Research Abstract |
I investigated whether own experience of an action affects understanding of other's action for human children and capuchin monkeys. I found both species changed their perception and expectation of other's action depending on their own experiences. This result suggest that non-human primates as well as humans have ability to infer the meaning of other's action based on understanding of one's own inner state.
