Research Abstract |
We clarified that Nitric oxide inhibits glial L-glutamate transporter function, GLAST and GLT1, through S-nitrosylation using cultured astrocytes and Xenopus oocyte overexpressing these transporters. We further found that docosahexaic acid enhanced L-glutamate transporter function.
