Research Abstract |
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of physical activity including exercise on immune function in elderly individuals. Intensive exercise increased salivary defensin secretion in young individuals, suggesting defensin might response to exercise In elderly individuals, free-living daily physical activity might increase salivary defensin secretion. Consequently, physical activity might enhance immune function in elderly people.
