Research Abstract |
Hypoalbuminemia was observed in plasma of rats with malnutrition. Levels of albumin mRNA were decreased in both liver and brain of rats with malnutrition. Furthermore, percentage of oxidized albumin within total plasma albumin increased in rats with malnutrition. Albumin is also found in cerebrospinal fluid. The increase of oxidized albumin may influence the brain function.
