Research Abstract |
For more effective and efficient chemical risk management, a novel bioassay method for detecting toxic materials in the environment using surface-enhanced laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry(SELDI-MS) was developed. The established SELDI-MS protocol for collecting the response patterns to toxic materials in the protein profile of microalgae as a biological indicator of environment allows to efficiently searching for biomarkers responding to toxic materials and to detecting the hazardous substances.
