Research Abstract |
This study examined both syntactic and semantic properties of small clauses and secondary predicates in present-day English. By investigating some historical data, we proposed that their structures underwent a syntactic change. Furthermore, the analysis proposed for the structures of small clauses and secondary predicates shed light on the issue “what constitutes a phase.”
