Research Abstract |
This Research project was aimed to analyze the effects of foreign direct investment(FDI) on the Japanese economy through the following two channels, each of which mutually affects the other; (1) Technological spillovers from FDI performing firms to FDI host country firms (2) The labor market of the FDI source country. The results from theoretical studies on FDI spillovers and theoretical/empirical studies on the(Japanese) labor market are consistent with recent observations with the Japanese and other Asian economies.
