Research Abstract |
In this report, (1) I construct the standardized patent applicant database, which is gathered name variation of patent applicant and assigned each patent applicant for new unique serial number. Furthermore, (2) I examine the effect of the revenue-based compensation plan on patent productivity using micro level inventor data. I find that these compensation plans is only marginally effective for inventor's productivity.
