Research Abstract |
In order to clarify the detailed eruption processes, magnetic petrologic analyses were carried out on samples from volcanic deposits of Unzen volcano and Izu-Oshima volcano, Japan. As a result, we found each deposit showed distinct magnetic petrologic characteristics and chemistry, grain size and grain shape of FeTi oxides are sensitive indicators of eruption processes.
