Research Abstract |
A new series of structurally well-defined heterometallic hexanuclear polyhydride complexes have been successfully synthesized from the half-sandwich type yttrium polyhydride complexes,[{Cp^HYH_2}_4(THF)_4](Cp^H=C_5Me_4H) and[{Cp YH_2}_5(THF)_2](Cp=C_5Me_5), with d-transition metal hydrides such as[Cp M(PMe_3) H_5](M=Mo, W). Those new hydrides reversible take up and release H2, which can be tuned by changing the metal combination and the ligand environment.
