Research Abstract |
Toward a better understanding of the genetic mechanism thatunderlies the early process of polyploid formation in grasses, wheat experimental lines for polyploidization-gene mapping were produced. In addition, comparative pollen mother cell analysis in wheat triploid hybrids suggested that it is the early stage of meiosis that holds the key to successful productionof functional 2n gametes.
