Research Abstract |
Structural studies of ・-Catenin especially focused on its novel function as a mechanosensor are promoted. As the result, we succeeded in visualizing the tension-dependent interaction between ・-Catenin and Vinculin at an atomic resolution. These results clarified the ・-Catenin mediated tension sensing mechanism, which converts physical information into biochemical reactions represented by a molecular recognition.
