Research Abstract |
piRNAs associating with Piwi family proteins are essential small RNAs for germ cell development. In this study, I investigated how piRNAs are produced in germ cells using Drosophila melanogaster as a model organism. As a result, I have identified novel piRNA biogenesis factors and characterized the molecular functions of them. Thus, this study will contribute to our understanding of the characters of germ line cells.
