Research Abstract |
Human・-defensin-3 and its mouse homologue, mouse・-defensin-14, showed potent cytotoxicity to mammalian cancer cells compared to other defensin isoforms. After implanting LLC adenocarcinoma in C57BL6 mice, we continuously injected mBD-14 peptide into the subcutaneous tissues around the tumor. The growth of tumor was significantly inhibited by mBD-14 peptide. In addition, the growth of LLC adenocarcinoma was significantly promoted in mBD-14-deficient mice 7 days after the implantation.
