Research Abstract |
Inter leukin-18(IL-18), found as interferon-γinducing factor, plays a critical role in innate and acquired immune response against microbes. IL-18 would also contribute to the pathogenesis of inflammatory diseases. To elucidate the pathogenesis and structure of IL-18 I igand-receptor complex, we have expressed recombinant IL-18Rαand IL-18Rβwith baculo-Insect cell systems and crystallized it as IL-18/IL18Rα/IL-18Rβheterotr imer ic complex and obtained X-ray diffraction data from the crystal.
