Research Abstract |
Patients with autism had significantly higher [11C](R)-PK11195 BPs than control subjects in the ROIs ; brain stem, cerebellum, thalamus, frontal, temporal, and occipital lobe, compared to healthy comparison subjects. This results suggests that there are microglial activation in those brain areas in autism, which indicates that neuroinflammation underlies the pathology of autism.
