Research Abstract |
The induction of autophagy is effectively monitored in glioma cell cultures. However, the monitoring of autophagy in gliomas has not been established in surgically removed tissues. A new method to monitor autophagy in surgically removed brain tumor tissue employing immunohistochemistry and Western blotting was established, and induction of autophagy was detected after temozolomide treatment.
