Research Abstract |
Propofol enhanced TNF α induced-IL8 production via GABAA receptors in human airway epithelial cells. GABAB receptor agonists had no effect on IL-8 production. Midazolam inhibited TGF α induced-MUC5AC production in a GABAA receptor independent manner. These results suggest that GABAA receptors may become a new therapeutic target of airway inflammation.
