Research Abstract |
HIV replicates in immortalized human first trimester trophoblast cell line in a CD4 independent manner. The HIV replication was up-regulated by lipopolysaccharide. These results suggested molecular basis of increased risk of maternal fetal infection by local infection by Gram-negative bacteria.
