Research Abstract |
Sleep Apnea Syndrome (SAS) is getting recognition after the super express accident caused by drowsy driver since 2003. Although it is considered that there were two million SAS patients in Japan, only thirteen million patients were diagnosed and treated. The purpose of this questionnaire based study was to estimate the characteristics of SAS in a dental setting. From this study, it was revealed the prevalence of suspected SAS in dental clinic. As dentists have frequent opportunity to find high risk patients from some questionnaire and exanimation might be useful for assessment the risk of SAS and enlightenment in the dental clinic.
