Research Abstract |
The mechanical characteristics and physiological role of bi-articular muscles in human movement were investigated. The different mechanisms of voluntary and involuntary contractions underlying the force generating characteristics of bi-articular muscles in the lower limb multi-joint movements were shown. It has been shown that the mechanical characteristics and physiological role of bi-articular muscles that control the human movement are important in determining the human voluntary movements.
