Research Abstract |
The bacterial flagellar motor is a rotary nano-machine of~ 50 nm in diameter. This rotary motor possesses many insights to build artificial nano-machines, e. g. fast rotation, switching of motor direction and so on. To reveal its rotation mechanism, we have tried to develop a method to observe the torque generation sites of the motor. As a result, we succeeded in labeling the functional motor by fluorescent dyes.
