Research Abstract |
General stress sigma factor RpoS delayed induction of viable but non-culturable (VBNC) state in Salmonella. Compared to S.Dublin harboring wild-type RpoS, S.Typhimurium strain LT2 and S.Oranienburg entered VBNC state rapidly due to lower levels of RpoS and missense mutation in rpoS gene, respectively.
