Research Abstract |
Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) of man and animal models results from immune-mediated specific beta cell destruction. Putative transforming growth factor-β1 regulated T1D susceptibility genes were identified by using T lymphoma cell-lines in this study. A question how these genes can determine T1D susceptibility by regulating T lymphocytes and T lymphocyte recognition in immunological synapse still remains unsolved and will be addressed.
