Outline of Research at the Start

The overall purpose of this project will be to design and develop nanoarchitectured based inexpensive, and simple biosensing platforms capable of efficiently detecting a range of crucial cancer-related RNA biomarkers in clinical samples, automated diagnostic device fabrication, and in-depth clinical validation of diagnostic device.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

The goal of this project was to develop an inexpensive, portable and automated system for rapid disease diagnosis by using novel metal nanoarchitectures.
These projects are:
a. Hydrogel integrated mesoporous gold chronocoulometric sensor for ultrasensitive detection of miRNA.
- We fabricated mesoporous gold and integrated it with the hydrogel chemistry to harness the best intrinsic activity from the system to apply for microRNA sensing. The developed sensor provided a much easy, reusable, and highly sensitive microRNA sensor.
b. Nanoarchitectured superparamagnetic iron oxide-doped mesoporous carbon nanozymes for biosensing.
- We developed a superparamagnetic nano-enzyme that showed high potentiality for magnetic isolation and purification as well as nano-enzyme activity.
