| Outline of Research at the Start |
子育てが社会問題化するなか、養育者に対する政治的・学術的支援はパッチワーク的なものにとどまっている。教育学や保育学は、これまで子ども研究と子育て支援でこの課題に応えてきたが、子どもや養育者をとりまく社会的視点が希薄であった。
本研究は、子どもに関わる誰もに必要な資質を、母性・父性を包摂する「親性」と捉え、「親性」獲得をすべての人の生涯発達の課題ととらえて、領域横断的研究を遂行する。
教育学・哲学・歴史学等の理論研究と、保育学・発達心理学・家政学・メディア学・脳科学などの領域研究を融合し、新たな教育学モデルを構築し、併せてその実践や社会実装に向けての方向性と基盤を提示する。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The fundamental idea of this project, offering a basis for'Collaborative Parenthood Studies',is all citizens should nurture and cultivate the‘nature of parenthood’ ('Oyasei') through their lifelong learning, using a cross-disciplinary approach to pursuit the solutions on child rearing in Japan.The five key components are: a) a survey of the latest findings from evolutionary studies, attachment theory and neuroscience; b) an observation of the primary school curriculum developing fundamental ideas about ‘parenthood’; c) interviews with parents in Tokushima to foster mutual support and clarify the involvement of the community and society in child-rearing; d) an exploration of historical ideas from traditional communities; and e) an investigation of potential lessons for Japanese society from an examination of successful educational practices and current policies in China, Taiwan, and the UK. A book in Japanese based on these research findings is planned, with publication in 2026.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
子育て困難という喫緊の社会的課題に対し、学術横断的な総合研究のアプローチにより、教育学の新たな研究領域の方向性を示した。なかでも「親性」生成を人間の生涯発達課題の基軸に据えることで、子どもの養育を、親や家庭だけでなく社会の全成員が共同で引き受ける責任と捉える観点を提示し、「協同子育て実践学」研究の新たな学問領域を切り拓いた。
「親性」を問う領域横断的な基礎研究の成果を「親性」生成のための実践プログラムに展開した。とくに各段階の諸学校や地域や社会を実践基盤とし、実践現場と往還する連携研究を自覚的に推進することで、社会の喫緊的に対して応答する学術のモデルを提示することができた。出版準備中である。
