Outline of Research at the Start

来る自動運転社会を見据え,今から道路ネットワークの整備や維持管理のための方策を戦略的に立てる必要がある.自動運転車両の普及過程の初期段階では,バスなどの公共交通としての導入が想定される.その場合,道路ネットワークにおいて,自動運転車両の専用レーンや専用リンクを設定する必要があるであろう.道路ネットワークに専用レーン/リンクを設置したとき,道路ネットワーク全体にどのような影響が及ぶかについて,定量的な影響評価を行わなければならない.自動運転社会におけるネットワークのデザインや効率的運用は,今後の重要な研究課題の1つであり,そこで必要となる要素技術を研究期間内に開発する.

Outline of Final Research Achievements

Technology for autonomous vehicles is being enhanced day by day. Under a certain traffic condition, autonomous vehicles are already used in a road network. Provision of a future transportation planning and management of efficient use of a road network in an autonomous vehicle society, and development of benefit estimation methods thanks to autonomous vehicles are needed. However, the methods which correctly measure the benefits from autonomous vehicles have not been developed. Based on the present situation mentioned above, this research aims at developing the following three models: A traffic network model which properly addresses the characteristics of autonomous vehicles, a network condition estimation model which makes use of unevenly distributed floating data collected in a road network, and a model which estimates multi-task effects under an autonomous vehicle society.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

自動運転車両の特性を踏まえた交通解析手法により、これまで議論されることのなかった自動運転車普及による時間信頼性向上効果を推計することができた。またネットワーク内で偏在するフローティングデータを活用した交通状態推計手法により、道路ネットワーク内の観測データが存在しない場所での交通状態を適切に推計できた。さらには、自動運転社会におけるマルチタスク効果推計手法により、運転時間を他の活動に振り分けられることによる効果を適切に推計できた。本研究で開発した手法により、従来は扱うことは不可能であるが、極めて重要な自動運転社会実現による効果を推計できることが示され、その学術的・社会的価値は高いと考える。
