Outline of Research at the Start

Outline of Final Research Achievements
Localized plasmon has the ability to focus light into nano-space and enhance interactions between light and matter, therefore, localized plasmon has been widely applied in various fields. However, the design of metal structures has relied on the experience and intuition of researchers. In this project, we created a novel method to automatically design the optimal shape of metal nanostructures that maximize the characteristics of localized plasmons, such as their enhancement factor, resonance characteristics, polarization characteristics, spatial distribution, and spectral properties, using a mathematical method based on our own ideas, and promoted research aimed at achieving the ultimate performance of single molecule and optical trapping of nanoparticle with the optimal nanostructures, and realizing optical transition dynamics that break the selection rule by freely controlling the spin and orbital angular momentum of nanolocalized fields.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
