Outline of Research at the Start

現在，子どもの発達・子育てにまつわる問題が深刻化している．その一因として，親子の心身状態のシステムが不均衡であることによる相互作用の困難さがある．本研究は，養育者が育児ストレスを顕在化させやすい生後半年～１年半の乳児とその養育者を対象に，相互作用の多様性が創発する機構・機序，生物学的基盤を解明する．個体内・間で生じる身体生理の動態（リズム生成と同期）を可視化し，情報の受容―生成―伝達連鎖の因果性や，各個体の形質（身体内部状態・心的機能）との関連を明らかにする．最終的に，個々の相互作用を予測するモデルを構築し，両者の動態を安定した状態へ導き，育児効力感を高める個別型の育児支援指針を創出する．

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

日本では、子どもの発達や子育てにまつわる問題が悪化し続けている。こうした問題が生じやすい理由のひとつとして、親子の生体システムが不均衡であることによる相互作用の困難さがある。本研究は、養育個体－乳幼児が双方に影響しあう時系列変化を可視化し、状態遷移の予測モデルを構築することを目的とする。相互作用の多様性が創発する基礎原理を解明することで、最終的には「個別型」の育児支援開発に向けた指針の提案を目指している。
本年度の研究実績として、おもに以下の３点が挙げられる。
（１）ヒトを対象とした研究では、母子の初回調査時から1年後（１歳半時点）の縦断調査を、100名あまりを対象に実施した。現在、時系列解析手法を用いた両者の自律神経系や行動の同期性や、腸内細菌叢・内分泌ホルモン・精神機能・認知発達との発達的関連について検証を進めている（データ収集は次年度夏までに完了予定）。（２）マウスを対象とした研究では、妊娠～授乳期間の相互作用時の行動および自律神経系の時系列データから、両個体の関係性の多様性が創発する機序とその関連要因を提案することができた。腸内細菌叢と母性行動に関する研究にも本格的に着手した。とくに、ヒト研究班（明和）によってわかってきたヒト母親の精神機能リスクと関連するとみられる菌叢の候補を抽出し、それを動物実験班（菊水）に提供することで、マウスを対象とした実験で因果検証を進めている。（３）ヒト研究班（明和）とモデル班（長井）との協働により、ヒトデータをもとに、相互作用時の両者の「内」「間」の感覚運動・生理信号を予測できる神経回路モデルを提案した。さらに、多様な特性を持つ母子に対応しうる「個別型」育児支援技術の開発にも着手した。個々の母子における「腸内細菌叢―生理ー心理―行動」データを活用し、日常生活下で個別にフィードバックするアプリケーションの開発を進めている。

Reason

本研究課題が開始された前半期間は、コロナ禍によりヒトを対象とした対面での調査が長期間にわたり中断された。そのため、当初計画にはなかった非接触で行いうる調査に切り替えて研究を推進することとした。結果として、想定をはるかに超える研究成果をあげることができた（中間評価報告書に詳細を記載）。
当初の研究計画については、期間の後半より本格的に再開することとなった。研究チームメンバーの多大な努力と研究に参加いただけた母子のご厚意により、本研究採択後に計画していた１５０の母子ペアの調査を短期間で完了することができた。さらに、その１年後の２回目の縦断的調査についても現時点ですでに１００ペアからのデータ収集を完了している。ヒトの育ちの縦断的検証という時間のかかる研究テーマであるにもかかわらず、目を見張るスピードで当初計画以上の成果をあげていることは高く評価できると自負している。
また、多様な母子から得られた生体データを各々の日常生活下にてフィードバックすることを目的とした育児支援アプリケーションの開発も順調に進んでいる。この開発品の効果にについては、最終年度３月に開催予定の300名の市民参加型のシンポジウムにて実証実験を行う予定としている。
「腸内細菌叢―腸管―脳」軸の観点から、ヒト研究班で見出した母親の精神リスクに関連する候補菌を動物実験班に提供することにより、その因果検証にまで踏み込めた成果も特筆すべき事項である。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

ヒトを対象とした研究では、初回調査時から1年後の乳児と母親を対象とした縦断調査を今年度夏ごろまで継続し、データ収集をすべて完了する。時系列解析手法を用いて、両者の相互作用時および日常生活下での自律神経活動や行動の同期性とその多様性についての検証を進める。さらに、精神機能や認知発達、腸内細菌叢や内分泌ホルモンとの多階層からなる生体データとの関連についても検討する。解析が完了したサブテーマから順次論文化を目指す。
マウスを対象とした研究では、妊娠～授乳期間の相互作用時の行動および自律神経系の時系列データから、両個体の関係性の多様性が創発する機序とその関連要因が特定されてきた。腸内細菌叢と母性行動の解析についても継続して進めており、これらの成果については順次論文化していく。ヒト母親が示す精神機能リスクと関連するとみられる菌叢の候補を抽出し、マウスを対象とした実験による因果検証も進めている。さらに、取得したヒトデータをもとに、相互作用時の母子「内」「間」の感覚運動・生理信号を再現・予測できる神経回路モデルの開発も加速して進めていく。
最終年度となる2025年度は、科学的エビデンスに依拠した、多様な特性を持つ母子の発達に対応しうる「個別型」育児支援技術の基盤開発に注力する。この成果の実証実験および社会還元を目指し、2025年度末に市民（子育て当事者、保健師、保育士、現場支援の専門家等、300名程度を収容）参加型のシンポジウムを京都大学で開催する。本研究成果をヒトの子育て・発達に関する基礎研究の成果を一般にわかりすく伝えるための一般書の公刊も目指す。世界に向けた成果発信としては、2025年9月に開催されるIEEE国際シンポジウムでの基調講演（明和）、および、神経発達科学の国際学会にて本研究課題をテーマとしたシンポジウムを企画、開催する予定である。
