Outline of Research at the Start

現在、広い周波数帯にわたって重力波の存在が予言されているが、現存する重力波観測器では観測可能な周波数帯が限られている。そこで、観測可能周波数帯を拡張するためにも、新しい重力波観測の方法とその定量的な検出理論の構築が求められる。
本研究の目的は、重力波と電子スピンの相互作用を利用した新しい重力波観測の方法を構築することであり、想定されるターゲット周波数は、高周波数帯(MHz~GHz)、あるいは低周波数帯(nHz~μHz)である。
さらに、構築された検出理論の応用として、重力波の偏光観測による修正重力理論の検証法確立を目指す。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

今年度は、磁場下に置かれた電子スピン(マグノン)を用いた重力波の検出理論を構築した。重力波探索に特化したマグノン実験のセットアップを明らかにするために、Fermi normal coordinateに現れる無限の高次項を厳密に取り扱い、定式化した。結果、将来的にマグノンを用いた重力波探索の感度を飛躍的に上昇させ ることが可能であることを理論的に示した。研究成果は論文としてアーカイブに投稿済みである。[Asuka Ito, Jiro Soda, "Exploring High Frequency Gravitational Waves with Magnons," arXiv:2212.04094 [gr-qc].]

また、準安定真空による超対称性の破れに伴う第一種相転が予言する重力波について研究した。結果、DECIGOやLISAといった重力波干渉計を用いて超対称性の破 れのメカニズムを検証し得ることを示した。[Chong-Sun Chu, Asuka Ito, "Gravitational Waves in Metastable Supersymmetry Breaking," Phys.Rev.D 105 (2022) 12, 12, arXiv:2201.11323 [hep-th].]

アクシオンダークマター中を伝播する光や、重力レンズにおいて、見かけ上の超光速性があらわれることが知られていた。 これらの物理が何を意味するのか解明するための第一歩として、IRの物理と伝播速度の関係性について研究した。[Asuka Ito, Teruaki Suyama, "Superluminal propagation from IR physics," Phys.Rev.D 107 (2023) 1, 1, arXiv:2210.15213 [hep-th].]
