Outline of Research at the Start

金属水素化物を用いるNH3合成など、固体表面ヒドリド種の水素化触媒作用は近年明らかにされているが、脱水素触媒作用は未開拓である。卑金属ヒドリド触媒の新規設計指針の提示を目指す本研究は、表面金属ヒドリド種及び触媒化学の発展に大きく寄与できる。低級アルカン脱水素には今現在も貴金属であるPt系触媒が工業的に利用されている。本研究の完成により、貴金属フリー触媒の開発とその設計指針の導出が達成されれば、化学産業界への高い波及効果が期待される。また、実験・理論の協働により金属水素化物の表面構造と触媒作用を解明することで、表面金属ヒドリドの触媒研究の新たな方法論を提示することができる。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

二年目は、一年目に発見した水酸化チタン(TiH2)の脱水素作用について、反応経路自動探索法を用いて理論的に解析した。反応経路探索により、TiH2によるプロパン脱水素反応の経路として2種類のメカニズム(step-wise, concerted)が提案された。いずれも活性化障壁は非常に低かった。これはPt系触媒を凌ぐ活性を示した実験事実と一致する。詳細な検討の結果、水酸化チタンの表面に存在する水素欠陥がプロパンの水素を引き抜くことで脱水素反応が進行することが明らかになった。水素欠陥生成エネルギーや欠陥周辺のTiの電子状態について議論した内容について、現在論文投稿準備中である。
また、本研究を通じて取り組んできた卑金属ヒドリド種の局所構造とエタン脱水素作用の関係についてレビュー記事を投稿し、掲載された。還元的固体イオン交換法(RSSIE)を用いてIn-CHAゼオライトを調製する際に、Inヒドリド種が形成されることを確認し、その非酸化的C2H6脱水素反応への触媒作用を明らかにした。また、その詳細な構造と反応機構について、分光学的、動力学的、理論的な研究と合わせて考察した内容をまとめている。
Gaジヒドリド種([GaH2]+)の優先的生成による、Ga交換ゼオライトの選択的な非酸化的C2H6脱水素反応について、Inヒドリド種と比較しながら議論している。
2年間の卑金属ヒドリド種に関する研究の中で得られた結果や知見について、In/Ga活性種の局所構造と反応選択性の関係や、活性種の形成に及ぼすゼオライト骨格の違いの影響などを総合的に考察している。
