がん免疫療法の一つである免疫チェックポイント阻害剤（immune checkpoint inhibitor、以下ICI）は複数の高ステージ進行がんにおいて抗腫瘍効果をもたらすが、効果を示す患者は約20%と治療効果は不十分である。近年、Wnt経路が、T細胞浸潤を抑制することでICI に抵抗性を示すことが報告されている。ここから、Wnt経路阻害剤であるタンキラーゼ阻害剤をICIに併用することで、Wnt経路を遮断し、T細胞の腫瘍浸潤を促進することでICI の抗腫瘍効果を増強できる可能性が考えられる。そこで、同阻害剤の併用治療効果を明らかにし、ICI 不応答性がん患者に有効な新規併用療法開発を目指す。
