Outline of Research at the Start

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

In this academic year, I was able to analyze what effect the COVID-19 confinement had on the temporal processing of the Japanese citizens. In the past years, many studies have been published as to how people perceived the passing of time but all these studies were centered in western countries, where governmental measures were forcefully and strictly enforced. In my study, I specifically investigated how the voluntary confinement of Japan influenced the psychological and cognitive measures of the Japanese people as well as how this event altered the production and reproduction of temporal intervals. Results revealed that temporal cognition of the citizens were impacted by the confinement measures and that age and cognitive ability was the measure that could predict its performance. Moreover, this was summarized into a paper and put as part of my PhD thesis.
