Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、Snペロブスカイト太陽電池の高性能化に向けた課題として、1) Snペロブスカイト薄膜の結晶成長速度制御による欠陥構造の低減(JSCの向上)、2) 電荷回収層材料とのエネルギー準位制御(VOCの向上)に着目し、これらに対して材料化学の視点から独自のアプローチにより半導体材料開発を展開することで、光電変換効率の飛躍的な向上の実現を目指すものである。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

Sn-Pb系ペロブスカイト太陽電池の高性能化を目指し、独自に開発したペロブスカイト層の表面パッシベーションの効果とそのメカニズムの詳細を明らかにした。
ペロブスカイト層の上下表面の構造修飾法として、表面をEDAI2、下面をグリシン塩酸塩で選択的に構造修飾する手法を考案し、それぞれ電子と正孔の取り出しの観点から、適したダイポールを持たせたこれらのパッシベーションが有効に作用し、理論限界に迫る高い開放電圧を得るとともに、Snを含むペロブスカイト太陽電池としても世界最高値である23.6%の光電変換効率を達成した。
さらに、一連のジアミンやフラーレンのカルボン酸誘導体を用いたパッシベーション法が、溶液でプロトン移動しながら、選択的にSn-Pbペロブスカイト界面を構造修飾するメカニズムについて、各種先端分光法と理論計算の結果と合わせて明らかにした。
具体的には、ペロブスカイト薄膜の表面をピペラジン(PP)などのジアミンで処理することで、表面でのプロトン移動反応によりジアンモニウムで構造修飾することが可能であり、さらにフラーレンのトリカルボン酸誘導体(CPTA)を塗布することで、ペロブスカイト薄膜表面のスズ上に選択的に配位結合できることを見出した。これらを組み合わせた相乗的表面修飾法により、Snを含むペロブスカイト太陽電池で22.7%の光電変換効率を達成するとともに、窒素ガス雰囲気下で>2000時間、空気中でも>450 時間でも90%以上の出力を保つ高い耐久性を実現した。
これらの成果は、論文発表後1年未満でhot paper (Top0.1%高被引用論文)として取り上げられるなど、ペロブスカイト太陽電池の高性能化に対する手法の新潮流を生み出したものとして、国内外で注目を集めている。
