| Outline of Research at the Start |
2020年度から我が国の小学校で開始された教科科目としての英語を成功に導くために，小学校英語教育の現状を解明する。音声言語の要素には，母音や子音を扱う分節音のレベルと，強勢やリズムやイントネーションを扱う超分節音（プロソディ）のレベルがある。イントネーションは，言語を言語らしく発音するために重要な要素であり，学習者が小学生だからこそ，効率的に習得できる可能性が高い。次の2点から研究を進める。第1に，音声教材を含め，英語のイントネーションを教育するために各教科書が採用している方法を分析する。第2に，音声教材の現場での活用法と，英語のイントネーションの児童の学習実態を分析し，将来の展望を探究する。

今年度の成果は以下の2本の論文と口頭発表で公表した。

Reason
教科書付属の音声教材のイントネーションに関する問題点はこれまでの研究で可能な限り調べつくしたが，教育効果に関しては時間確保の点から十分な研究が行われていない。
