| Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究では、工業高等専門学校（高専）の学生を対象としたタスク・ベースの英語学習プログラムを開発・実践し、その有効性を検証することで、高専および日本の英語教育におけるタスク・ベースの授業のあり方を示すものである。まず、タスク・ベースの指導法についての文献を広く収集し、理論的枠組みの整理を行う。その後、高専生のニーズを踏まえてタスクを作成、配置し、タスク・ベースのプログラムを開発する。そして、開発されたプログラムを実施し、（1）高専生の英語能力や英語学習への認識にどのような変容が見られるか、（2）高専生のタスクの取り組み方に影響を与える要因にはどのようなものがあるか、という点を中心に検証を行う。

| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
本研究の目的は、高専生を対象にタスク・ベースの授業（Task-Based Language Teaching）を実施し、高専生の英語能力や英語学習の認識の変容を調査することである。また、高専におけるタスクの取り組みを促進・阻害する要因について明らかにすることである。
令和5年度は、令和4年度までに収集したデータを分析し、実施したTBLTプログラムについて全体的にどの点が効果的に作用し、どの点に課題が残ったかについて検証した。その結果の一部を、"Low proficiency learners' perceptions of task-based language teaching in an ESP classroom in Japan"という題目で、タイで行われたThe 10th International Conference on Task-Based Language Teachingにて研究協力者と共同で発表した。また、令和3年度に実施したパイロットスタディについて、タスク・ベースの授業が高専においてどのように機能するかを検証するマイクロ評価（micro-evaluation）として位置付けて再度分析した。その結果を"Evaluating task-based lessons for engineering students at the National Institute of Technology"という題目で、全国高等専門学校英語教育学会第46回研究大会にて発表した。
その他、令和3年度に行った文献研究について、"Considering the suitability of task-based language teaching at the National Institute of Technology"という題目で福井工業高等専門学校研究紀要に投稿し採択された。また、全国高等専門学校英語教育学会研究論集に、"Evaluating task-based lessons for engineering students at the National Institute of Technology"という題目で論文を投稿し採択された。

Reason
令和5年度の計画は、TBLTを通して見られた英語能力・英語学習の認識・取り組み過程の変容を解明することであった。調査は令和4年度までに終えており、令和5年度は収集したデータの分析・整理に注力し、研究結果について学会発表を行ったり論文執筆を行ったりすることに集中することができた。これらの点から、令和5年度の進捗状況は、申請時に立てた計画と照らし合わせてもおおむね順調に進展していると考えることができる。

最終年度となる令和6年度には、令和5年度までの研究を踏まえて、TBLTを通して見られた高専生の英語能力と認識の変容の全体的な傾向、高専生のタスクの取り組み方の傾向、取り組みを促進・阻害する要因等について研究論文の形にまとめて発表する。また、学習者の母語の使用など、TBLTのプロセスの側面においても研究結果をまとめて学会発表を行ったり論文執筆を行ったりする。
