今日、農村学校への視線は、単に人口減少に対応した学校統廃合の問題だけでなく、農村学校における子どもの学習の質へと向けられるようになった。農村の子どもや若者の質の高い学習を保障するためにどのような政策があるか、どのような良き実践や経験があるかを検討する必要性が認識され、その追究が農村学校の文脈以外でも有効となるということが、世界的に議論され始めている。つまり、20世紀を通じて進んだ都市型の学校教育に対して、19世紀型の農村学校の教育についての反省的な見方と未来に向けた新たな可能性が注目され、農村学校の省察からもたらされる革新的な視点への期待が生まれている。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In recent years, rural school education has emerged not only as an issue of school consolidation and closure in response to population decline, but also as a matter concerning the quality of children's learning. From the perspective of national land conservation and the sustainability of rural communities, there is an increasing need to implement policies and practices that ensure high-quality learning opportunities for children and youth in rural areas. This study aims to analyze previous research and diverse resources on rural education; to reflect on rural education and rural schools in France; to clarify both the advantages and challenges of rural education; and to explore innovative possibilities.
