| Outline of Research at the Start |
COVID パンデミックという状況が、経皮的冠動脈インターベンション(PCI)治療の日常診療にどのような影響があるのかについて、また、この状況が他国と比較して、本邦のPCI診療体制、治療に際する急性期・慢性期成績、患者の予後についてどのような違いがあるのかを調査する。本研究で今後のパンデミックや自然災害に参考となるデーターを構築し、本邦のPCI患者の予後改善に資する成果を出す。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, we would expand the Coronary Intervention Registry (J-PCI Registry), led by the CVIT (Japanese Association of Cardiovascular Intervention and Therapeutics), to establish the J-PCI Follow-up Registry aimed at investigating the long-term outcomes of PCI. The objectives are as follows: 1) To investigate the long-term prognosis following PCI, focusing on outcomes during the COVID-19 pandemic and in the ongoing 'with-COVID' era, and 2) To examine the differences in healthcare delivery systems before the COVID-19 outbreak, during the pandemic, and in the 'with-COVID' phase. Based on these findings, we aimed to identify essential factors for improving outcomes and ensuring effective acute-phase treatment for acute coronary syndrome (ACS) during future pandemics or large-scale disasters.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
2020年にCOVID-19パンデミックという状況が発生し、日常診療にどのような影響があるのか、この状況が他国と比較して、本邦の経皮的冠動脈インターベンション(PCI)診療体制、治療に際する急性期・慢性期成績、患者の予後について調査することが非常に重要であると考えられた。
このような状況のもと、COVID-19に対する我が国のPCIに対する医療体制の長所や問題点を明らかにすることが重要であり、更に今後のパンデミックや自然災害に参考となるデータを構築することにも大きな役割を果たすことができると考えた。
